Mr. Nitz is a founding member of the Firm and has served as a director of the Firm for over 25 years and is President of the Firm. Actively involved in the management of the Firm, he has assisted in its growth from seven lawyers to twenty-two.

During his 40 years as a practicing attorney, Mr. Nitz has broad experience in many areas of the law. He assisted in the drafting of the original Franchise Act in the State of Michigan and represented a number of franchisees both locally and nationally. He has been involved in the acquisition of a mortgage company and suppliers of the auto industry. Representing both foreign companies conducting business in Michigan and Michigan businesses conducting business around the world, he has gained a wide experience in establishing foreign corporations and the operations for foreign corporations. For many years Mr. Nitz has represented banking institutions and continues to represent a national bank. He has broad experience in estate planning and administration and holds a certificate of completion from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in the field of estate planning and administration.

Mr. Nitz has served as an instructor of business law at Wayne County Community College and as a member of a sub-committee of the Real Property Section of the Michigan Bar Association which drafted a model attorney opinion letter for use in real estate transactions. Mr. Nitz coordinated the work of several law firms in the drafting of the Charter for the County of Macomb which was approved by the electorate in November 2009. The Firm is the general counsel for the Macomb County Charter Commission.

Active in the community, Mr. Nitz has served as a director and officer of many organizations including as a Trustee, Secretary and President of Warren Consolidated Schools, as a Director of the Warren, Center Line, Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce, President of the Warren Rotary Club, founder and former President of Leadership Macomb, trustee of the Warren Consolidated Schools Foundation, Trustee for the Utica School Foundation for Educational Excellence, director and President of Friends of the Octagon House. Mr. Nitz has served on numerous blue ribbon committees and issue focused task forces related to community issues. He is a member of the Detroit Athletic Club.
