Real estate transactions are complex and difficult to navigate without legal assistance. John Bartley concentrates his practice on all areas of real estate law and therefore brings nearly three decades of legal expertise to help his clients through such matters involving property.
Mr. Bartley represents sellers and purchasers in complex purchase and sales transactions. He is involved in all aspects of leases, easements, restrictions and in clearing title encroachments and encumbrances. He has also represented many lending institutions with such complex issues as permanent financing transactions, construction lending, loan workouts, and foreclosures.
A sought-after lecturer on title insurance and other issues, Mr. Bartley enjoys sharing his knowledge with industry leaders. He has lectured at the Institute of Continuing Education, Real Property Law Section seminars, and others. In addition, he serves as the co-chairperson of the Title and Conveyancing Subcommittee for the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
Mr. Bartley has published articles in several publications. His article entitled "The PACA/PSA Trust" was published in the August 2020 edition of the Michigan State Bar Real Property Law Section E-Newsletter. In 2019, he published an article on the Construction Lien Act Amendment in the same newsletter. Also in 2019, his article on Marketable Record Title Act Amendment was published in the Michigan Real Property Journal.
