Sean Colonna is an associate in the firm’s estate planning, business law, and litigation and disputes practice groups. Mr. Colonna is skilled at preparing general estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trust agreements, and medical and financial powers of attorney documents. He also has extensive experience in complex retirement planning, charitable trusts, and transfer tax planning through the use of irrevocable trusts.

In addition, Mr. Colonna has experience creating and implementing business succession plans for closely held family businesses and key employees. He serves as a trusted advisor for business owners in the areas of commercial transactions, litigation, and tax planning.

Sean earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating in 2013. He was a faculty research assistant contributing to published law review articles. He received numerous academic awards, including Book Awards for International Taxation, Canadian Law, and Estates and Trusts.

Sean earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Western Michigan University, with concentrations in public law, economics, and accounting. He was on the Dean’s List, held board positions in school organizations, and was a volunteer tutor for financial and managerial accounting students.

A Pennsylvania native, Mr. Colonna, who always wanted to be an attorney, is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoys spending time with this golden lab, Lulu, playing golf, and traveling in his free time.
