Litigation Attorney

O'Reilly Rancilio P.C., Macomb County’s largest law firm in Sterling Heights, Michigan, is seeking a talented and motivated Litigation Attorney to join our growing Litigation Group. What You'll Do

As a member of our Litigation Group, you will play a key role in managing complex litigation matters from inception through resolution. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working directly with clients to provide practical legal guidance and outstanding service
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings
  • Conducting and defending depositions
  • Appearing in both Michigan state and federal courts
  • Participating in settlement negotiations and facilitation
  • Assisting with trial strategy and trial preparation

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 5–7 years of civil litigation experience
  • Active license and good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
  • Significant experience handling complex business litigation in state and federal courts
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented approach to practicing law
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Familiarity with the Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County courts
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant

Job Description: This position provides secretarial and administrative support to attorneys. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading and writing skills, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have 7+ years of experience in a law firm setting. Must be conversant in the preparation and filing of corporate and limited liability company organizational documents (i.e Articles, Amendments, Bylaws, Resolutions, Operating Agreements, FEIN Applications, etc.), including litigation searches, UCC searches, and preparation of schedules. Should have familiarity with real estate searches and filings with Register of Deeds.

Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant

Job Description: We are looking for a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join the firm. This position provides secretarial and administrative support to attorneys. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading and writing skills, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
* Prepare and proofread correspondence, memos, pleadings, briefs, forms and other documents in proper legal form, ranging from simple to very complex while fully utilizing firm technology
* Proofread all documents to ensure accuracy, consistency and professional appearance
* Maintain electronic and hard copy open files according to firm standards
* Ability and experience with e-filing in Oakland, Macomb, Wayne Counties and Federal Court
* Perform other administrative duties such as docketing, calendar maintenance, conference room reservations, opening and filing mail

Qualifications:
* Legal secretary/legal studies degree preferred (equivalent experience considered)
* Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
* Excellent grammar and writing skills
* Ability to handle privileged and confidential information with discretion
