On September 24, 2014, Marc D. Kaszubski and Donald P. DeNault, shareholders of the firm, will be presenting to the members of the Michigan Municipal League on recent developments in Michigan's Open Carry Law and the firm's successful defense of a municipal client and its officers surrounding a confrontation with heavily armed individuals walking toward a hospital, carrying assault rifles. The presentation focuses on the training of police officers in handling the unannounced presence of heavily armed open carry advocates within the municipality, current developments in the law, as well as the recent Opinion and Order obtained by the firm from United States District Court Judge Robert Cleland dismissing the plaintiffs' complaint claiming violations of their First, Second and Fourth Amendment rights in its entirety.
