O’Reilly Rancilio attorney Clark Andrews received the State Bar of Michigan “Unsung Hero Award” for more than four decades of legal, volunteer, and pro bono work in Macomb County. The award, given annually to only one attorney in the state, recognizes a lawyer who has exhibited the highest standards of practice and commitment for the benefit of others.
Andrews practices municipal law, estate planning, and business and real estate law at O’Reilly Rancilio. He has worked in the legal field in Macomb County for 45 years.
Through the Sterling Heights Rotary Club Andrews has provided bike helmets for kids and college scholarships for students. Also through Rotary, Andrews helped establish and improve Rotary Park, hosted holiday parties and other events for special needs students, and helped with hike/bike trail improvements in Dodge Park.
Andrews served as a volunteer at the Macomb County Legal Assistance Program for Senior Citizens Board for 22 years. On a pro-bono-basis, he reviewed case strategies, office caseloads, client confidentiality, and other ethical issues. Andrews also served as a volunteer on the Professional Education Committee of the Michigan Municipal Attorneys Association which delivers educational seminars to municipal attorneys.
Andrews has been active with the Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence for many years. Annually, Clark volunteers as a business leader at the Career Focus Luncheon, which offers free career guidance to roughly 2,000 sixth grade students. For several years on Law Day, Clark participated in a Mock Trial with 6th grade students at Roberts Elementary School in Shelby Township.
Andrews has volunteered as a Director and served as President of the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and helped form their Foundation. He’s also active with the Sterling Heights Drug Free Coalition and the COMEBACK-Quick Response Team.
At O’Reilly Rancilio, Clark serves as a mentor to new attorneys. He teaches them about his areas of expertise, how to ethically practice law, and how to enjoy the profession.
“Clark has made a difference in our community and at our firm. He exemplifies the mission of the firm and has positively impacted the people of Macomb County for 45 years. His skills, knowledge, willingness to help others, and his dedication to our community make him a shining example of an unsung hero,” said Charles Turnbull, President of O’Reilly Rancilio.
