Linda McGrail, a shareholder with O’Reilly Rancilio P.C. in Sterling Heights, was recently selected as one of Michigan Lawyers Weekly “Women in the Law.” The award recognizes women who commit to excellence in the practice of law, are inspiring and accomplished leaders, serve as a mentor to others, and contribute significant time and effort to volunteerism and/or pro bono initiatives. McGrail, of Clinton Township, was one of only 30 women in the state to receive the honor.
McGrail is an experienced trial attorney specializing in municipal, business, probate, and domestic law and litigation. She is also experienced in property tax appeals. She has successfully litigated a variety of cases including business disputes, disputes involving non-compete agreements, stock purchase agreements, wrongful discharge, shareholder disputes (including those involving minority oppression), trademarks, automotive suppliers, contracts, debt collection manners, construction lien claims, tax assessments, and fraud claims.
McGrail’s father, William J. McGrail. Jr., worked as the City of Utica attorney from 1976-2013 and often shared his daily activities and challenges with his family, including his daughter Linda. This passion for law inspired Linda to emulate her father, and she eventually earned the same position as Utica City Attorney in 2017.
In addition, McGrail is active in various organizations, including those that advance women and Macomb County. Currently, she serves as an officer and on the Board of Directors for Leadership Macomb and is a graduate of Leadership Macomb VIII. McGrail formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Hope Center, a food pantry for the needy. She also is a former President and Treasurer of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan–Macomb Region and Director of the Macomb County Bar Association.
