O’Reilly Rancilio is pleased to announce that Donald P. DeNault, Jr. has been named to the 2026 Michigan Legal 250 by Lawyers Weekly in the Education category.
A lifelong Macomb County resident, DeNault has practiced law with O’Reilly Rancilio P.C. since graduating from Wayne State University Law School in 1996. He serves as a member of the firm’s board and chairs the firm’s Municipal Practice Group, where he focuses on municipal and school law matters, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Open Meetings Act compliance, zoning, civil rights, litigation, and policy drafting.
Don represents school districts, cities, townships, and villages throughout Michigan. In 2009, he served as the primary attorney for the Macomb County Charter Commission, assisting with the drafting of the county’s first charter.
An accomplished litigator, Don has defended municipalities and police officers, and has helped develop innovative code enforcement tools, including volunteer boards and administrative warrants.
A frequent author and speaker on municipal law, DeNault regularly appears on the Macomb County Bar Association’s “Legally Speaking” cable program. He also presents to cities, townships, and law enforcement agencies on Michigan’s evolving marijuana laws.
His inclusion in the 2026 Michigan Legal 250 recognizes his longstanding commitment to municipal law and his service to communities, public entities, and clients throughout Michigan.
