Congratulations to O’Reilly Rancilio founding member, attorney John Nitz, on receiving Distinguished Volunteer recognition from Advancing Macomb. Mr. Nitz is a founding member and serves on the Board of Directors at Advancing Macomb.
Distinguished Volunteers will be celebrated on National Philanthropy Day, Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. Mr. Nitz will be among other volunteers featured on Detroit Public Television.
Advancing Macomb provides leadership and resources needed to solve community challenges in Macomb County. By mobilizing their collective assets, they act as a conduit between opportunity and need. Advancing Macomb strives to enrich the lives of residents and creates a thriving environment in which to live, learn, work, recreate, and innovate.
Along with his work at Advancing Macomb, Mr. Nitz has served as director and officer of many organizations, including as a trustee, secretary, and president of Warren Consolidated Schools, as director of the Warren, Center Line, and Sterling Heights chambers of commerce, president of the Rotary Club, founder and past president of Leadership Macomb, trustee of the Warren Consolidated Schools Foundation, trustee for the Utica Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence, and director and president of Friends of the Octagon House.
Mr. Nitz, a founding member of O’Reilly Rancilio who has practiced law for more than 40 years, is one of southeast Michigan’s most respected attorneys. Mr. Nitz was honored to have coordinated the work of several law firms in the drafting of the Macomb County Charter and to have served as general counsel to the Macomb County Charter Commission and special counsel to the first elected county executive.
