O’Reilly Rancilio attorney Lori Smith was recognized by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners as an Outstanding Volunteer. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed their time and energy to make a lasting, positive impact on their community. Lori, who is involved in multiple charitable and nonprofit organizations, is the Immediate Past-President of the Macomb County Bar Association, President and current Director of the Macomb County Bar Foundation. Lori is the current President for the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Macomb Region, President of the Friends of the Macomb County Veterans’ Treatment Court 501(c)(3) and President of the Macomb County Mental Health Court Charitable Foundation 501(c)(3). She also serves on the Advisory Council for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen Jefferson House and as an assistant coach for the Sterling Heights Adaptive Softball League. In addition, Lori is active with Miss Amazing Michigan a national non-profit organization that is a self-esteem movement for girls and women with disabilities.
Michigan Lawyers Weekly recognized attorney Clark Andrews as a “Go-To Lawyer” in Real Estate Law. According to the publication, a “Go To Lawyer” is a lawyer who is an expert in his or her field, well-versed in the nuances of the case law, statutes and regulations clients will encounter; a lawyer who is experienced and enjoys a record of success, with many cases and/or transactions that give testimony to the quality advice he or she can provide; a lawyer to whom other lawyers make referrals because of his or her expertise and accomplishment; and a lawyer who can think creatively and identify all options for a client.
Attorney Marc Kaszubski presented as an educational speaker on the Michigan Open Meetings Act at the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks (MAMC) 2023 Annual Conference in Detroit.
Attorney Lori Smith begins her term as the Immediate Past President of the Macomb County Bar Association.
Attorney Marc Kaszubski was one of the keynote speakers at the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section Summer Conference on Mackinaw Island. Marc’s presentation focused on the adaptive re-use of traditional shopping malls through the eyes of the Lakeside Mall redevelopment.
Five O’Reilly Rancilio attorneys were named to the peer-selected Super Lawyers list, including Chuck Turnbull, Larry Scott, Marc Kaszubski, James Sarconi, and Jim Thomas. Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in Michigan are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Nearly 50,000 attorneys are practicing in the state. Super Lawyers is a rating of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have earned a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

O’Reilly Rancilio welcomed attorney Alexander Hishon to its Business and Real Estate practice group.
Attorney Lori Smith received Michigan Lawyers Weekly Influential Women of Law 2023 honor. According to the publication, the award honors women attorneys and judges for their excellent work on behalf of the justice system and for their clients, their commitment to their communities, and their service to the profession. Honorees are inspiring and accomplished leaders, serve as mentors to others, and contribute significant time and effort to volunteerism and/or pro bono initiatives.
Attorney Brian Grant hosted a seminar at the Sterling Heights Senior Center where he offered tips on how to avoid probate. Brian also offered “Estate Planning for All Ages” at Macomb Community College.
O’Reilly Rancilio attorney Scott Ruark was re-selected as a National Trial Lawyers Criminal Defense Top 40 under 40 Trial Lawyer in the state of Michigan. The honor is given to only the top 40 under 40 attorneys for their superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as young criminal defense and civil plaintiff lawyers. Membership into The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 provides recognition to these distinguished attorneys, and provides essential legal news, information, and continuing education to trial lawyers across the United States.
On Nov. 28, O’Reilly Rancilio began its 40th year in business.
Attorneys Chuck Turnbull, Marc Kaszubski and Jim Sarconi were selected as Blue Ribbon Panelists for the 2024 Michigan Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.
Super Lawyers is a rating of outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have earned a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice areas.
In their role as panelists, Chuck, Marc and Jim will review the candidacy of attorneys who aspire to enter the Super Lawyer rankings. Only attorneys with the highest point totals are invited to evaluate the applications of fellow lawyers.
Chuck has achieved Super Lawyers status annually since 2009. Marc, who was selected as a Blue Ribbon Panelist in the past, had achieved Rising Star in 2011-2012 and Super Lawyer annually since 2013. Jim achieved Rising Star in 2010-2018 and Super Lawyer every year since 2019.
